No Oil Change Receipts For Warranty

I dont know much about vehicles but i was taught to always take my car in for an oil change every 3 thousand miles.

No oil change receipts for warranty. Great except for the fact that the last owner did not keep any oil change receipts although he claimed to have changed it every 5000 km. Two weeks with no word i call in and find out that theyre requesting oil receipts. Id rather buy 10 cases of synth and 20 filters and be set for the first 2 years i just dont know how ill prove i actually installed it. No big worries since nissan has a 560 engine warranty.

That is covered by federal law. A warranty is a promise often made by a manufacturer to stand behind its product or to fix certain defects or malfunctions over a period of time. Change your oil folks and if you want your warranty to cover engine failures even if it was a manufacturing problem keep your oil change receipts if your dealer doesnt do the change. I would hate to have something go wrong and get my warranty voided due to missing oil changes. Because regardless of whos fault it is they will always claim that you didnt keep up your end of the warranty by not following the required maintenance schedule. If toyota mandated that it be down by them they would have to do it at no cost. Apparently they refuse to acknowledge the magnuson moss warranty act whereby the must prove that i caused the failure.

Just picked up a 04 mazda rx8 with 54000 km not miles and found out mazda has extended the powertrain warranty to 8 years160000 km. So i decided to fight it. With about 30000 miles he was looking a potential motor problems. Got in touch with kia consumer affairs which went nowhere.
